NTSE (National Talent Search Examination) is a scholarship exam conducted by the NCERT that awards praiseworthy students a stipend up to the Ph.D. level in Social Sciences, Basic sciences, & Commerce. The award aims to nurture higher education in India and to give financial help to those endowed with intelligence but lacks the means to fulfill their aspiration. It is one of the most reputable awards that would add brownie points to your Resume. Therefore, prepare for the exam as it may keep the key to your victorious future. Here are the points you must know about NTSE.
Eligibility: Any Indian national of class X is eligible to give stage 1 of the exam and any Indian foreign national studying in class X is eligible for stage 2 of the exam.
Scholarship: An amount of 1250Rs/ month is given to students of XI-XII. An amount of Rs.2000/month is provided to undergraduate & postgraduate students. PH.D. allowance is given according to the UGC norms
Examination Pattern: The exam is managed in two parts- Stage-1-The state/UT conducts the exam at stage-1. The state/UT nominates students for the stage-2 exam at the national level
NTSE Stage-2 Exam: The exam tempo remains the same; this exam is conducted at the national level. The marks gained in the Language test will not add the value in the final merit. Mere qualification in this paper is enough.
Qualifying Marks:For the qualification 40% for general category students and 35% for SC, ST and PH.
Reservation: The seat reservation goes as follows-
- SC-15%
- ST-7.5%
- PH-3%
