Career options after 12th Biology
Biology is a very widely taken subject after 10th Board Exams by both CBSE and RBSE state Board students. Around 18 lac students appear in NEET exam only per year. Similarly, lacs of other students appear for different medical courses entrance exams every year.
But due to lack of awareness many bright students tend to miss out good career options and fall in lesser better lines. So, this blog is primarily directed towards creating awareness about various medical courses and career options available after 12th Board exams.
Below listed are various medical courses that a 12th student can opt:
- MBBS:MBBS is a combination of two professional degrees that are Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. It is a 5 year course which comprises basic, pre and para-clinical subjects. NEET-UG is the entrance exam for MBBS admission in India after class 12
- BDS:BDS is a professional degree of 5 years of study including 1 year of Internship. It is one of the leading courses after 12th biology. BDS Colleges in India offer seats for this course through NEET exam.
- B.Vsc:It is a 5-year undergraduate course in veterinary science {diagnosing diseases and treatment of diseases of animals and birds}.
- BAMS:BAMS stands for Bachelor of Ayurvedic, Medicine and Surgery. It is an undergraduate course in Ayurvedic medicine and surgery. This course comprises 4.5 years of study and 1 year of compulsory internship.
- BHMS:Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery is a 5.5 year-long professional course among the eminent courses after 12th Biology, comprising of 4.5 years for academic study and 1 year for a compulsory internship in a hospital to gain practical exposure
- B-PHARAM:Bachelor of Pharmacy is a four-year course to practice as a pharmacist. It is one of the most popular courses after 12th biology. Candidate must have an aggregate of 50% marks in 12th with biology as a major subject to pursue this course.
- BPT or B.Pth:BPT stands for Bachelor of Physiotherapy. It is a 4 years long undergraduate course including 6 months of internship. It is one of the best physiotherapy courses among the courses after 12th biology.
- D Pharma:Doctor of Pharmacy is commonly termed as Pharma D. It is a 6 years long postgraduate course in pharmacy, comprising 5 years of academic study and 1 year of internship. Diploma holder candidates or 12th pass science students are eligible to pursue this course
